Kids Can Cook Kitchen

Room 6 had the pleasure of cooking with Chris Fortune. The cooking lesson was not only informative it was very entertaining as well. Chris had the whole class absolutely engaged from the moment they walked into his kitchen. We all came away from the lesson with a new appreciation for healthy eating and a willingness to try new foods and recipes.

We began Term 2 with a splash and a very early start to the day. Room 6 had to be at school before 8.30 am to ensure we were on the bus heading to Aqua Gym ready for our swimming lesson which started bang on 9.00am.  It didn't take us long to get into our swimming routine which helped us make the most of our swimming tutors expertise and skills. We were all thrilled with the progress we made and the sense of achievement we felt at the end of our two weeks of lessons. The highlight for many of us was overcoming our fears of the deep pool and the feeling of not being able to touch the bottom. We soon realised that we weren't going to sink and we relaxed and enjoyed floating on our tummies and backs. A big thank you to our Red Bus Driver and all our Aqua Gym Tutors. Also thank you to all our whanau whom joined us at the pool and a special thank you to Adam for all his support and help.

More Kite Flying Fun.

Last term we learnt how to make a kite and how to get our kites up in the air. This term we are going to discover how and why our kites stayed up in the air. We also want to know how this relates to gliders and planes. However one thing we don't need any research to confirm, is that 'Kite Flying' is a whole lot of fun and as these videos show the higher our kites flew the more uplifted we felt.

Kite Making

This term we are going to revisit our wonderful Term 2 Kite Day to help explain "How a kite flies?'' We will use our handmade kites to demonstrate the dynamics of kite flying. We have really enjoyed looking back on our prior Learning to help us with our study about "Forces"

Room 6 really enjoyed joining other schools for a fun packed day of sports. A huge thank you to our awesome parent helpers that support us and cheered us on all day. Kia Ora.
