Room 6’s contribution to the Newsletter. Term 2 Week 7

Recently in Room 6 we have been exploring different types of Writing including Poetry, Explanation Writing and Research Writing. At this stage we have worked collaboratively with a buddy to research a common topic. Soon however our Year 4 Tuakana are going to lead the way and research a topic of their own choosing perhaps in an area of interest that theywant to learn more about. They will then be given the opportunity to share their findings with the Karawha Team and the wider school.

Here are some examples of our Poetry.

Acrostic Poems from Room 6

Autumn leaves will tumble from the branches
Under the tree you will see the beautiful leaves
The wind will fly around you around you and it will feel like a breeze stroking your cheek
Under the tree you will see kids running around
My garden will be packed with colourful leaves
Nagging winds will fly across the sky
-Jaxon

Autumn leaves fall off the trees
Unlocking the leaves
The leaves aren’t seen on the trees
Under the trees lots of leaves piled high
Mixed colours
No more breeze under the trees
-Zane

On Tuesday Room 6 had the opportunity to explore the Noel Leeming Mobile Learning Hub. As you can see from the photo’s we were all completely engaged and in a world of absolute ‘wonder’ The Hub was equipped with a selection of the most up to date technology including a 3D Printer.

Please help:
If you have any old t.shirts or shirts that could be used as painting shirts to help protect our school uniforms when we are painting please send them along to school. We also need small or medium sized cardboard boxes for our future art projects. Thank you for your support.
