Orana Park Trip

Wow! Orana Park what an amazing place!  The tamariki began the week with excitement knowing that the our trip to Orana Wildlife Park was on Tuesday for our Year 4's and Wednesday for our Year 3's. The Orana Park experience didn't let us down, what an amazing day it was for all of us! We were able to see the living world in action and get a feel for the ecosystems and habitats in which these animals live.

Everyone that went came away with a little more knowledge than they had before the trip. Since the trip we have extended upon this knowledge of how all living things rely on each other in some shape and form. We have also completed research of one of the animals that we saw at the park. As a class we are becoming very aware of our role as guardians of our natural world and the importance of looking after it.

Softball

Room 6 tamariki have been enjoying their Softball lessons . We have specialist teacher from Canterbury Sport come and take a 45 minute lesson once a week. We have been working on our catching, pitching and batting techniques. We are now beginning to integrate these separate elements of the sport into the a more formal game of Softball. Room 6 and 7 are enjoying mixing the teams up and versing each other.
