What have Room 6 been up to?

Measurement

We have begun this term looking at Measurement, Mass and soon we will move into Fractions, Multiplication and Division. Last term the students worked on their 2x, 5x and 10x tables. So our next step is to learn the multiplication and division of the 3x, 4x and 6x tables. During this term we will also revise the other strands and basic facts that we have covered throughout the year. Keep up the great Mathletics work.

                                            

Storybird Writing.

This term the students have continued refining their Narrative Writing skills. The students are using their knowledge to write Narratives digitally on Storybird. Please encourage your child to work on their Writing at home using their Storybird user name and password. Try writing a story together.

Construction, Art.

For Art this term we are learning how to design and make an art piece using different materials to construct something new. As part of this study we will be experimenting with a variety of medium and design ideas.

Ecosystems, Inquiry Topic

This topic is about how plants, animals and organisms operate and survive. We will be looking at how everything is interconnected and ultimately dependent on each other. During this study we will be looking at how we need to look after the resources that we have by using the story “The Lorax” by Dr Suess as our motivation and point of reference.
